Our Sweet Story…
Hi! My name is Kristin Zatta and we live in Louisiana just outside of Baton Rouge. I'm married to Francisco and we are blessed to have three combined children together: Rachel, Jace and Jacki. We are passionate about our faith, our family and our dogs!
How did this happen? Let me start from the beginning. Our family owns two sugar cane mills in south Louisiana (hence the name!) I grew up with cane fields in our back yard, rode four-wheelers, and was always surrounded by animals. My mom bred everything! From champion shar-pei's, chow-chows, macaws, amazon parrots, miniature horses and even guppy fish! Needless to say, breeding was in my blood.
When I started a family of my own, we owned a small non-shedding Shitzu-Maltese and a HUGE beautiful black lab named Max. He was such a smart and loving dog! Except there was one problem: BLACK HAIR EVERYWHERE! It became so hard to keep up a household with two small children while constantly having dog hair everywhere. As our dogs began to age, and with even more love in our hearts, I went on a search for a non-shedding dog that would fit our family...
Sugar Bear the Cajun Bernedoodle was the perfect fit for our family! She was the life of the party, had the best temperament and turned heads everywhere we went. As our other two dogs aged and eventually passed away, we knew it was time to fill our hearts again with another pup. That's when I stumbled upon... the Australian Labradoodle!
With the support of my loving husband, and the knowledge, experience and help from my mom, we decided to create Sugar Cane Doodles to raise empowered, healthy Australian Labradoodle dogs and puppies and to help families and individuals with special needs find their perfect companion or therapy dog.
